“Climate Control: Gender and Racial Bias in Engineering?” has been nominated for Best Diversity Paper at the American Society for Engineering Education Annual Conference. The report is co-authored by WorkLife Law Director Joan C. Williams, Research Director Su Li, and the Society for Women Engineers’ Roberta Rincon and Peter Finn. The report builds from the Workplace Experiences Survey, which asked respondents whether they had experienced the gender and racial bias that has been documented in social psychology experiments. The report finds gender, racial, and age gaps in bias patterns that play out across workplaces and is an important step in recognizing bias for women and people of color in STEM. Congratulations!
